Once you're out to sea, the goal is to snag as much crab as possible to maximize your profits. The strategy elements in Deadliest Catch are as involved as the job itself.

Waves toss them around - yes, there's a full set of wave physics in action here, though there are clipping issues that haven't been hammered out yet - and the throttle and rudders operate the way they do in real life (there's a fast travel or wait option to take away the long stretches with nothing to do that fisherman typically have to suffer through while traveling long distances). You can also design your own boat to use…but that's not nearly as cool. You didn't think I could get that joke in twice, did you? Many of the boats from the show, including the Cornelia Marie and the Northwestern, have been faithfully recreated for the game and they'll handle exactly how they do in real life. The game starts with a series of five tutorials that get you into the fast-paced world of boating in the Bering Sea. Once you sit down with Deadliest Catch you'll realize just how involved the occupation of crab fishing is. If you're anything like me, not a whole lot comes to mind when you sit down and think about what sort of gamplay elements you could include in a game about crab fishing. The game won't wow anyone with flashy graphics or action-packed gameplay, but strategy buffs would do well to keep an eye out for the release, which could be as soon as May.
